01
Start with the file, not your login
Group Chat Awards reads WhatsApp TXT and Telegram JSON exports locally in your browser. It does not connect to your messaging account or fetch your history. Use the built-in synthetic demo if you want to see the format first.
02
Make the recap match the occasion
For a birthday, reunion or end-of-year dinner, message totals, a favorite emoji and a chat streak can start the conversation. The export defines the available history: an incomplete file cannot produce a complete year. Check its dates before calling a card your “2026 wrapped”.
03
Share less than you analyse
Your chat file stays on your device. A card you choose to share is a separate disclosure: use initials, review any quoted line and ask the participants first. Never post someone else’s private messages just because an award sounds funny.

Is this an official WhatsApp or Telegram feature?
No. It is an independent browser tool, not affiliated with WhatsApp or Telegram.
Does “most active” mean most online?
No. It counts parsed messages in the supplied file, not online time or read receipts.
